Superfast Broadband for Suffolk
Suffolk has one of the poorest broadband speeds in England with the average speed just under
5Mbps. But with the Government setting targets to get most households in the country to Superfast
Broadband by the end of 2015 Suffolk County Council had agreed to invest money in the project. The
total cost of the project is £41.7m which they have had help of £11m; the rest of the cost would be
met by the company installing the infrastructure.
The government has a strategy costing £830m for the UK which includes a digital hub in every
community over the next five years.
