Google Releases Native Client
Web apps and native applications have always been separated in the computing world; until now. The latest beta version of Google Chrome (Version 14) supports the running of applications written in C and C++. These applications can be run within the Chrome interface. This allows developers to blur the boundaries between a web and native app.
Google said in a statement:
“Native Client apps use Pepper, a set of interfaces that provide C and C++ bindings to the capabilities of HTML5. As a result, developers can now leverage their native code libraries and expertise to deliver portable, high performance web apps.”
